AMSYSCO supplies barrier cable systems for vehicle and pedestrian restraint.  The system meets the PTI Specification for Seven-Wire Steel Strand Barrier Cable Applications. The barrier cable system uses 0.5" diameter, 7-wire steel strands which are economical and flexible.

Depending on the Owner’s aesthetic and corrosion-protection requirements, AMSYSCO can furnish galvanized barrier cable, plastic coating barrier cable and epoxy barrier cable. In addition, we supply the appropriate anchorage/attachment devices as well as the stressing equipment.

There are special considerations when stressing barrier cable. First, the barrier cable is stressed at a much lower force than the conventional post-tensioning tendon. Second, the barrier cable requires back-stressing after the initial stressing.
