PTI Certified Plant – AMSYSCO 2011

AMSYSCO, Inc. passed its first unannounced Plant Inspection in the 2011 calender. The certification program is overseen by the Post-Tensioning Institute.

“Certification of Plants Producing Unbonded Single Strand Tendons—Launched in 1989, the first program, Unbonded Single Strand Tendon Fabrication Facilities, is for facilities that fabricate unbonded single strand tendons. Since its inception, participation in the program has grown steadily. Fifty-five plants are certified, which represents approximately 95% of the industry’s production. In 2007, PTI added provisions to permit certification of mobile fabricating facilities in addition to fixed plants.”

VIDEO : Post-Tensioning – Cutting Line Machine

This short video shows the process of cutting extruded post-tension cables into individual tendons. Eventually the tendons are secured and anchorages are attached. Then the tendons are packaged and shipped to construction sites.

AMSYSCO, Inc. has had a long-standing history with providing a quality product governed by the Post-Tensioning Institute’s plant certification program. AMSYSCO passed the first 36 inspections in our old Addison, Illinois warehouse. Last year, we passed our 41st inspection operating under our Romeoville, Illinois warehouse.

AMSYSCO’s average rating in the past five years is over 91.0 out of 100.0. This is well above the industry average (est. high 80′s).

AMSYSCO, Inc. is proud to enter it’s 20th year as a PTI-Certified Plant for Unbonded Post-Tensioning. AMSYSCO, Inc. has operated in one of the longest standing PTI-Certified Plants in the world – if not the longest, in good standing. Our manufacturing plant strives to have a rating well above the industry average.

The PTI inspection is unannounced twice a year by an independent certifying agency. The following is an excerpt from the Post-Tensioning Institute’s website regarding the program:

Launched in 1989, the first program, Unbonded Single Strand Tendon Fabrication Facilities, is for facilities that fabricate unbonded single strand tendons.
